OVER $11,000!!!

We just want to put out a HUGE THANK YOU to everyone who donated to our Flood the Love campaign!

Not only did we have a great time and a great showing of people last Saturday, but we also MET OUR GOAL!

We raised over $11,000 in just over a week’s time and we couldn’t have done it without all of you.

Thank you from the bottom of our hearts. We know this money will only be a small portion of what is needed to help these people rebuild their homes, but it will make a big difference in their lives.

Thank you St. George City and more press coverage

Our last hurdle was overcome yesterday and we just want to throw out a HUGE THANK YOU to St. George City for their willingness to accommodate and sponsor our event at the Town Square Park.

Because of their generosity, we are able to do this without any direct costs and so all the money we raise will be able to go to funding the flood victims. We are so excited for the event tomorrow and hope you all will be able to make it out. Please share this with friends, family, co-workers, etc. We would really like to make a significant difference in the lives of these people so horribly affected by this tragedy.

We also want to thank the spectrum for highlighting our event in the article linked below. Every bit of exposure helps!

Lastly, we want to thank Cherry Creek Radio and their Cherry Creek Radio Cares campaign for hosting us on 4 separate morning shows last Tuesday to help us get the word out. It was a great experience and they were all very gracious with their time to help us get the word out.

So don’t forget TOMORROW, St. George TOWN SQUARE PARK, 8:30am, come have fun doing a crossfit workout (even if you’ve never done crossfit), donate money to the flood victims, or buy a FLOOD THE LOVE t-shirt that will go toward the cause.  Thanks again to Crossfit Dixie for their participation and help in hosting this event. The Kyle and Kade Boyer haven’t hesitated for a second to share their time, help, and expertise in putting this together!

Thanks and see you there!!!

Due to popular demand, we have decided to produce the t-shirts regardless of the number of donators we have and make them available sooner. We’ll have shirts available at the event on Saturday the 29th, but if you want to assure your size is available you can order now on the site.

UNFORTUNATELY, because we are trying to run this site at no cost so all the money can go to the flood victims, wordpress won’t allow us to add an “e-commerce” button which would be the easiest way to buy a shirt so on this post we will explain the best way to purchase your shirt.

1. Click on the link here or there will be another one at the bottom of this post.

2. Enter the amount you want based on the following guidelines

a. $25 for every shirt you want to order (we only have adult sizes, Add $1.50 for 2XL and $2 for 3XL)

b. If you want it shipped to you, add $5 for the first shirt and $2.50 for every shirt after that. If you order 7 or more shirts, just add $20 for shipping. If you want to pick it up just buy the shirt(s) and we’ll contact you when they are ready.

3. Click update total

4. Enter your Credit Card information or sign into Paypal.

5. Click on the “Add Special Instructions to recipient” link below the Purpose “Flood the Love”

6. Enter your shirt size(s)

ex. Small, Large, X-Large

7. Click on the “Donate Now” button

8. Thank you, Thank you, Thank you for donating to the cause!

Our First Press Coverage!!!

We want to send a big thank you to KCSG for putting together an article to highlight Flood the Love.

Check out the article here http://kcsg.com/view/full_story/20216464/article-Flood-the-Love?instance=home_first_stories

We also will be doing interviews on a few different St. George radio stations on Tuesday morning. Listen in around 8:15am to hear us talk about Flood the Love on  Big Kickin Country (106.1), News Talk (890am), Star 98 fm, and B92 fm. We appreciate Cherry Creek Radio and the Cherry Creek Radio Cares campaign for getting behind our cause!

Lastly, we got a highlight on the blog of our dear friend Jeni Awerkamp. You can read the whole post here (http://jengub.blogspot.com/2012/09/flooding-santa-clara-again.html). Jeni’s parents’ house was one of the flooded houses and what we particularly love about her post is the two examples she highlights of people that are suffering as a result of the flood. As parents, example A especially pulls at our heart strings. Thanks Jeni!

Example A: my parents still have room in their home for comfortable living, but the children of a neighboring family down the street are staying in a camper parked in their front yard because their small basement – now totally destroyed – is where they slept. Those children will most likely be in that camper through the pending fall and winter…they may easily be there until reconstruction of their home can occur, and their parents don’t know when that can happen.

Example B: some families’ homes have been entirely condemned. Complete demolition of their old homes is required and building an entirely new home is necessary. Can you imagine being required to build a home without having any financial reserve or preparation to do so? The thought alone is so overwhelming…

Poster is designed and ready to go!

Check out the poster and logo my wife, Julie, whipped up with her mad design skills. Purely awesome and purely amazing. You know what else would be amazing? If you shared it with all your friends. If you would like a copy of the poster message me at brock.rasmussen@gmail.com. We have a few printed copies and I can also send you the PDF.

If you have a place of business, crossfit box, or anywhere you would like to hang the poster to get the word out, we would very much appreciate it!
